THURSDAY, DECEMBER 24th

The Scenario: A Christmas Eve party where you WILL be guzzling champagne like nobody's business.

The Core Item: This Topshop party-ready slip dress, spliced with sex-bomb-lace and hey-girl-hey sequins.

O HOLY NIGHT! MY THIGHS ARE SHINING BRONZELY, FROM THE NEW SPRAY TAN I GOT TODAY!

So now that you enjoyed my abridged version of a Christmas classic, what are y'all doing tonight for Xmas Eve? I am running to a party so I'm making this short and sweet like my last Tinder date. For Christmas Eve, wear a little black dress with a lot of sex appeal. Pair it with a non-boring black pump (this one is festooned with stars!) and a kitschy clutch with a Christmas-appropriate slogan. These are all TOPSHOP because the brand has been absolutely killing it with their dresses this season (plus all items are under $100 so #winning!)

THURSDAY: HOW TO WEAR A MOM JEAN

by Matthew T. Murray

I'll spare you the poetics here and get straight to the point: this outfit is really cool. I never thought in a katrillion years that I'd be praising acid wash Mom jeans but this look works. Wear it to an FKA Twigs concert or test-drive it at work (only if you work in a non-stuffy job where coworkers understand why Tom Ford's days at Gucci were a pivotal moment in fashion). Add a leopard-y bag and quirky pilgrim shoes (both Miu Miu!) with an effortless tie-dye t-shirt and you've got a effortless but eye-catching look. Throw on this peach faux-fur jacket from Topshop to shield you against chilly temps and you've got a good look on your hands.

Solange-ing It

by Matthew T. Murray

Solange Knowles is known for three things: (1) her supernova sister Beyonce aka Goddess, aka Queen Bey, aka Yonce if you so dare to address her majesty with a nickname, (2) her elevator brawl with a then-jittery Jay-Z (what exactly unfolded there will forever be an unanswered question of the universe) and (3) her inimitable style dressing to the nines in bright colors, optimistic patterns and incomparable personal touches that sing with style. I'm most enthused by number 3 although I do acknowledge that number 2 is more intriguing than elephants humping on the Discovery Channel.

As one of the most fashionable birds in the flock of stylish chicks out there, I often wax poetic on Solange's style. It's gotten to the undeniably-unhealthy point that when I see something terrific dangling from the racks at Topshop or clicking through the virtual treasure trove that is Net-a-Porter, I squeal in jarringly-high-pitch bird-cry: "Solange would wear this!"

Well, Solange would wear this outfit above fer suuureee. A lime-green and groovy yet niftily nautical dress from Topshop and spectacular statement heels from Tibi adorned with gobstopper gems and monochrome stripes (now on sale for $178 - down from the wince-worthy $445 price-tag so buy it right this very second!!!) have the Solange sass. Add in an Edie Parker-ish clutch and strut around like you learned it from Beyonce... just like Solange did!
