5 Last-Minute New Year's Eve Outfits to Copy

by Matthew T. Murray in Steal Their Style

You have T-minus 30 hours until that big ass ball drops and I'm not talking about your ex-boyfriend's set of cajones. With one of the biggest nights of the year on the horizon, you're feelin' a little farklempt with what to wear tomorrow night.

Relax. Breathe. And have a glass of wine. Make that two glasses of wine. Okay three. I have all the sartorial solutions you need for New Year's Eve right here. So what if you didn't get a brand spankin' new outfit - you didn't need that gaudy sequin mini-dress anyways. The best looks to wear are the ones already floating around your closet - you just have to know how to put them together.

And lucky for us, these six stylish celebrities show how a few minor tweaks here and there - adding a Chanel brooch to a chambray shirt or pairing a casual little black dress with Adidas - make wonderful style statements out of what you already own. Copy these looks!

WHITE JACKET + ALL BLACK EVERYTHING

Kate Moss proves she is an unstoppable force of fashion time and time again (and the girl just refuses to age!) Here, she pairs a sharp white tuxedo jacket with a black slinky tank, satin pants, simple pumps and a clutch. This is the perfect look to wear to a fancy-schmancy dinner party.

BROWN JACKET + BLACK DRESS

Candace Swanepoel's shearling is officially at the top of my need-it-or-I-might-die-a-slow-painful-death list (this J.W. Anderson jacket is also on said list). Funny how you never thought pairing a brown jacket and black dress would work and then BAM! a supermodel wears it and suddenly you want their entire look - their cheekbone structure and rock-hard abs would be nice too!

TURTLENECK + MINI-SKIRT + STRAPPY HEELS

Let's be honest - Joan Smalls could make a garbage bag look fabulous. But this outfit is particularly pretty. A floral mini-skirt is so unexpected for New Year's Eve - most chicks will be wearing some type of flimsy Forever21 dress. Pair it with a cozy turtleneck so your breasts don't get frostbitten and strappy heels so your gams look miles long and you're good to go!

LBD + SNEAKERS

Hear me out on this one! Look how amazeballs Lily Aldridge looks in this slinky black number paired with Adidas Superstars (the pitch-perfect Veronica Lake blowout is the cherry on top of a delicious sundae). Also, you can dance the night away without the fear of breaking your ankles in this look so it's a win-win, especially if you plan on clubbing with your girl gang tomorrow night.

DENIM ON DENIM

Denim for New Year's Eve?! YES! YES! YES! Rihanna shows us how it's done - as always! Give a little pizazz to a chambray shirt and distressed denim skirt with Chanel brooches and nude pumps. If you don't have a brooch, swap in a statement necklace or gold shoulder-duster earrings for a punch of style. This look is perfect to wear to your friend's house party - it's casual and cool!

P.S. Because most of these looks would induce hyperthermia, check out my round-up of the best jackets to wear on top of your New Year's Eve look!
