Fitness #Goals

TUESDAY, DECEMBER 29th

Fendi jacket. Bkr water bottle. Fendi leggings. Nike sneakers.

It's that time of year again where you shit your pants writing New Year's Resolutions. I know one item on everyone's #goals list for 2016: get fit or die tryin.'

But first, let me remind you that you and your body are beautiful. We become so bombarded by the pretty young things on the runways (here's lookin' at you, Gigi and Kendall!), the tan and toned fitness chicks on Instagram hawking some type of detox tea at you, and the girl next door who suddenly has Candace Swanepoel's abs and Kim Kardashian's ass.

You see all these images of 'perfection' that you forget how fucking awesome you are. So what if you resemble a beluga whale after eating a pint of Ben & Jerry's? You're living life.

But fitness really is a fantastic journey. Don't say "I want to lose 15 pounds in 30 days." Don't head to Juice Press and stock up for hibernation. Don't cut out carbs completely. Think of this as long-term. Not short-term.

Find a fitness class you love (SoulCycle and Barry's Bootcamp are dope!) Find a friend who shares your fitness goals and work out (and gossip about bitchy coworkers) with them. Walk instead of taking the train. But most importantly, have fun doing it. Don't beat yourself up for not losing weight fast enough or eating that third slice of pizza. If you have fun while working on your fitness, you'll be an unstoppable force of hotness.

And because I'm here to tell you what to wear, I found the most fashion-forward Fendi (sorry, I'm really feelin' Fendi these days - see below!) sport look. Throw on your fave kicks (I live for Nikes!) and grab a Vogue-approved Bkr water bottle. Cute workout clothes will make you want to go to the gym! YOU BETTA WORK, BITCH (sidenote: really great song for the treadmill)!

Color Block

by Matthew T. Murray

Color blocking is a shi-shi-fu-fu-fancy and totally-unnecessary word that, put simply, means vividly-saturated brights have been mixed and matched together to the heart's delight. And while copious color is a staple of summer style, this season it seems to be headed right into fall with a sartorial bang. Designers tangoed with the idea of color-blocking for their fall shows: the usual suspect color pailette of the season (dove grey, banal black, wintery white) were mangled and injected with shocking pops of color (among them - cobalt blue and fervent fuschia with some tangerine orange at play). So rest assured you can wear this outfit now and later, like the candy but also not at all.

Pair this yappity yellow crop knit from Topshop with a Carven A-line mini that zigs and zags with a colorful trio that really freakin' works. A perforated bag in a crisp white is an unexpected complement to striking saturations of color and minty-fresh pumps from Aldo are better with this look than an Altoid (assuming of course that you brushed your teeth this morning for the required and humbly-suggested two-to-three minutes). If this look doesn't make you want to wear a box of Crayolas, I don't know what will.

Shop this Outfix:

Top by Topshop, $50  /  Skirt by Carven, $25  /  Lips by MAC, $20 /  Bag by Zara, $80  /  Shoes by Aldo, $40
