Delpozo For The Win

by Matthew T. Murray in CASUAL, DAYTIME DRESSING

WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 6th

Every week, I'm smitten with a new designer to a near-addictive extent where the temptation to buy everything is alarmingly high. Last week, it was Gucci - who can say no to fantastical yet wearable rainbow stripes? The week before, I was feelin' Fendi.

But then, luckily, I remember I am male. And this is one of the times I am thankful to be a male. If I were a fashion gurl, I would likely have biweekly mental breakdowns over not being able to afford can't-live-without Stella McCartney silver oxfords (pictured) or scene-stealing Miu Miu printed dresses.

It's easier for me to fantasize and suggest to you a $600 Delpozo sweater for the mere factoid  that I will never have to live with and resist the temptation to own sweater (unless I opt for gender re-assignment - in that case, I'll have Chanel and Delpozo up the wazoo, please).

So in conclusion, I'mma show you this expensive ass sweater with the perfect Stella wedges but from now on for my outfit posts, I will also show how you can get the look for less since I want The Outfix to be a space everyone can enjoy without fretting finances. Because fashion should always be fun.

TUESDAY: DINNER WITH GIRLFRANDS

by Matthew T. Murray

Who needs a man when you have a gaggle of girlfriends who understand your twisted sense of humor, your penchant for pints of Ben & Jerry's Half-Baked, and your bitchin' about the idiots you've met on Tinder (can we just admit to ourselves that love is dead and all collectively whisper RIP BOOBOO)?

It seems that when compared to your unbreakable friendships, a man just seems to be the accessory. The proverbial Celine bag. This isn't to trivialize the importance of falling head over Louboutins for someone you care about. By all means, enjoy that love boat. But, in a post-Sex and the City world, you have become more viscerally aware and celebratory of how your girls become your great loves. They are your army (f@%& the word 'squad' - can we pretty please lay this overused term to rest in the same metaphoric graveyard that love is eternally sleeping).

So why not celebrate how much these chicas mean to you by skipping the same-old half-off cocktail at happy hour and head to a fancy-shmancy dinner that Blair Waldorf would be proud of. Reserve a table at Butter - the restaurant Gossip Girl chatted on about almost every episode XOXO - and wear this outfit pictured above. This Pixie Market knit dress (UNDER $100!) is perfect as we transition to chilly temps - pair it with cashmere Wolford tights and trendy Tibi flatforms (ON SALE FOR UNDER $300). A structured black bag adds a hint of luxury to this semi-casual outfit - this bag above is Balenciaga but Forever21's sleek tote will also do the trick and is only $32! Last but not least, since it's getting chilly, throw on a dusty rose BLK DNM leather jacket to add a fun pop of color to an otherwise neutral outfit.

Denim on Denim (on Denim)

by Matthew T. Murray

According to Urban Dictionary, also known as the intellectual Zeitgeist for millenials across America, racks on racks on racks means "being rich as f@#$, ballin' outta control." This look has next to nothing to do with racks on racks on racks but hey, it's Denim on Denim so let's pretend for the purposes of being a bit more spicy this Monday morning, that it does. Anywhoo, now that denim is the most undisputed and timeless staple you will have in your closet (think of how long you've been wearing jeans? Your entire life, except that string of Bar and Bat Mitzvahs you attended in your first ill-fitting dress?! Thought so!). Now, the new wave of wearing denim is a modern take on the Canadian tuxedo - pairing denim in the same indigo shade and clipping on some Chanel-bling. Why? Because Rihanna and Beyonce freakin' say so. And no shade to the Queen Bey, but Riri did wear this nifty little look first so I'm showing you how to steal her style below with 1000s of Rihanna's wearing denim on denim (okay, it's 12 Rihanna's).
