Fitness Friday!

by Matthew T. Murray in FITNESS

Fuck binge eating Taco Bell and binge watching Netflix tonight as tempting as that may sounds! Blow off drinking seventeen Surfer Girls with your squadron at Réunion Surf Bar! Cancel plans for margaritas at Blockheads with that finance bro you met on Tinder! It's Friday night and nothing's more turnt than the gym!

First things first, lemme just say I don't EVER want to encourage one type of desirable body because man oh man the media does that enough. All women's bodies - more precisely, all women in general - are beautiful. I stand behind that 400 thousand percent. But sometimes, you want to look like one of those Victoria's Secret aliens.

And while it's still TBC whether those chicks' bodies are created by mad scientists in some far-flung Icelandic factory (it's probable, amiright?!), you can get cracking on your body right now by heading to the gym.

Don't worry about working out for the perfect body - instead, workout to feel good. When you feel good, you look good. You have that radiant glow that Maybelline and YouTube contouring tutorials can never give you.

And here is an outfit to make you even happier to go to the gym. Because you'll dread squats less when Toucan Sam is winking back at you from a Adidas jacket.

HAPPY NEW YEAR

by Matthew T. Murray in NIGHT OUT, PLAY

JANUARY 1, 2016

Gucci dress. Gucci shoes. Edie Parker clutch. Ray-Ban sunglasses.

New year, new you! Or at least time to step it up and become the boss ass chick you were meant to be! And what better way to do that then wearing a dress that screams with confidence!

I'm head-over-Louboutins obsessed with Gucci's metallic technicolor designs this season. This dress paraded down the Resort 2016 collection and from the moment I saw it, my heart fell out of my butt. That Alessandro dude is giving me way 2 much life with what he's doing at Gucci.

The rainbow stripe top is everything (check out yesterday's post!) but this dress really is what dreams are made of. And while the dress may be a fantasy, the price tag is a nightmare ($2,600!) so I found a few options just as fun as the Gucci - preppy here, hipster there, and skanky over here.

Even if you usually stick to a monochromatic palette, when designers send not one, two, nor three colors down the runway but 7 at once in a cluster-fuck of ROYGBIV, it's time to resolve to wear the rainbow and not just taste it!

And wearing the rainbow isn't as tricky as you'd think: pair it with metallic shoes, loudly matching bags, and colorful aviators (I'd suggest pink or blue)! But most importantly, smile and have a ton of fun! Bad moods and the colors of the rainbow do not work well together! Happy new year, ladies!

NEW YEAR'S EVE, BABY!

by Matthew T. Murray in CASUAL, NIGHT OUT, WORK

THURSDAY, DECEMBER 31st

Gucci top. Gucci pants. Gucci shoes. Gucci bag. Moet & Chandon champagne.

Step one in putting together the perfect outfit: put together the perfect playlist. I get dressed for nights out blasting feel-good anthems like "I Gotta Feeling!" by the Black Eyed Peas (above) and anything Britney Spears because well, it's Britney, bitch!

So put on some jams and get to dressing because tonight is your night to shine! I'm obsessed with my styled Gucci look, all available at Net-A-Porter. The top is everything a fashion girl could dream of - Rainbow technicolor stripes, cascading ruffles, metallic sparkle!

It's a top that's just asking to be taken out dancing on New Year's Eve! I also found a rave girl-style from Dolls Kill that only costs 12 dollars and has just as much fun as the Gucci does (yes, I'm personifying clothing)!

Anyways, treat yourself and buy this Gucci look (and consequently start off 2016 being broke af) or find a pretty camisole in your closet and pair it with a flare-leg jean in an off-white shade (the pair pictured is Gucci but G-star has a perfect style for 1/4 the price!) Throw in a patent pink bag for a pop of color and throw on glossy metallic mules and you're ready to celebrate NYE in style!

If you're in New York, I'd suggest wearing this coat with it but if you're lucky enough to be chillaxing at some far-flung beach resort, this look works as is. Maybe just lose the shoes so you can dance the night away on the beach you lucky dog, you!

So now that you have the solution for an NYE look that's simple and fun, it's time to drink buttloads of champagne and gain 6,000 blisters from all that dancing! Go out and have fun!

See you in 2016!
