A Sartorial Solution to Chilly Winter Temps

by Matthew T. Murray in CASUAL, WORK

While pondering the coming of winter (hayyy Game of Thrones!) and more appropriately what one wears for said coming, I may have discovered a sartorial solution.

Cable knit sweater + skirt + thigh-high boots = an outfit functional and fashionable for chilly temps. Cable knit sweaters have been paired with skirts by fashion girls for quite some time but adding these Stuart Weitzman thigh-highs make the look winter-ready.

Plus, if you plan on GTFO'ing winter by heading to some tropical destination, the skirt will pair pretty with your new Kiini bikini and silver gladiator sandals. A seasonless skirt that does double-duty is a smart wardrobe investment and this Marc Jacobs marigold floral pleated option is pretty pickings (plus, marigold had a major moment at last night's Golden Globes when Jennifer Lopez absolutely slayed on the red carpet).

Delpozo For The Win

by Matthew T. Murray in CASUAL, DAYTIME DRESSING

WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 6th

Every week, I'm smitten with a new designer to a near-addictive extent where the temptation to buy everything is alarmingly high. Last week, it was Gucci - who can say no to fantastical yet wearable rainbow stripes? The week before, I was feelin' Fendi.

But then, luckily, I remember I am male. And this is one of the times I am thankful to be a male. If I were a fashion gurl, I would likely have biweekly mental breakdowns over not being able to afford can't-live-without Stella McCartney silver oxfords (pictured) or scene-stealing Miu Miu printed dresses.

It's easier for me to fantasize and suggest to you a $600 Delpozo sweater for the mere factoid  that I will never have to live with and resist the temptation to own sweater (unless I opt for gender re-assignment - in that case, I'll have Chanel and Delpozo up the wazoo, please).

So in conclusion, I'mma show you this expensive ass sweater with the perfect Stella wedges but from now on for my outfit posts, I will also show how you can get the look for less since I want The Outfix to be a space everyone can enjoy without fretting finances. Because fashion should always be fun.

NEW YEAR'S EVE, BABY!

by Matthew T. Murray in CASUAL, NIGHT OUT, WORK

THURSDAY, DECEMBER 31st

Gucci top. Gucci pants. Gucci shoes. Gucci bag. Moet & Chandon champagne.

Step one in putting together the perfect outfit: put together the perfect playlist. I get dressed for nights out blasting feel-good anthems like "I Gotta Feeling!" by the Black Eyed Peas (above) and anything Britney Spears because well, it's Britney, bitch!

So put on some jams and get to dressing because tonight is your night to shine! I'm obsessed with my styled Gucci look, all available at Net-A-Porter. The top is everything a fashion girl could dream of - Rainbow technicolor stripes, cascading ruffles, metallic sparkle!

It's a top that's just asking to be taken out dancing on New Year's Eve! I also found a rave girl-style from Dolls Kill that only costs 12 dollars and has just as much fun as the Gucci does (yes, I'm personifying clothing)!

Anyways, treat yourself and buy this Gucci look (and consequently start off 2016 being broke af) or find a pretty camisole in your closet and pair it with a flare-leg jean in an off-white shade (the pair pictured is Gucci but G-star has a perfect style for 1/4 the price!) Throw in a patent pink bag for a pop of color and throw on glossy metallic mules and you're ready to celebrate NYE in style!

If you're in New York, I'd suggest wearing this coat with it but if you're lucky enough to be chillaxing at some far-flung beach resort, this look works as is. Maybe just lose the shoes so you can dance the night away on the beach you lucky dog, you!

So now that you have the solution for an NYE look that's simple and fun, it's time to drink buttloads of champagne and gain 6,000 blisters from all that dancing! Go out and have fun!

See you in 2016!
