SOMEWHERE OVA DA RAINBOWZ

by Matthew T. Murray in CASUAL, NIGHT OUT, WORK

Let's blame it on the cold-as-balls weather but I'm falling in love with everything rainbow. Maybe it's the screeching homosexual inside of me or maybe it's the fact that ROYGBIV splashed across the spring 2016 runways. Well good news is you don't have to wait till spring has sprung to jump into the trend right this second!

Snatch yourself a warm rainbow-striped sweater - this one is from color kween Mary Katrantzou! Like I've mentioned while raving and ranting about Gucci's rainbow resort-wear, pick a playful bag in the same color-splashed schematic. Add a tailored pant in a solid pop of color (love this pastel pink from Pallas) and a neutral white heel to balance it all out.

Since it's a wee bit chilly, bundle up in a fun faux-fur coat - I'm obsessed with this Shrimps one. Most importantly, wear a smile!

Delpozo For The Win

by Matthew T. Murray in CASUAL, DAYTIME DRESSING

WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 6th

Every week, I'm smitten with a new designer to a near-addictive extent where the temptation to buy everything is alarmingly high. Last week, it was Gucci - who can say no to fantastical yet wearable rainbow stripes? The week before, I was feelin' Fendi.

But then, luckily, I remember I am male. And this is one of the times I am thankful to be a male. If I were a fashion gurl, I would likely have biweekly mental breakdowns over not being able to afford can't-live-without Stella McCartney silver oxfords (pictured) or scene-stealing Miu Miu printed dresses.

It's easier for me to fantasize and suggest to you a $600 Delpozo sweater for the mere factoid  that I will never have to live with and resist the temptation to own sweater (unless I opt for gender re-assignment - in that case, I'll have Chanel and Delpozo up the wazoo, please).

So in conclusion, I'mma show you this expensive ass sweater with the perfect Stella wedges but from now on for my outfit posts, I will also show how you can get the look for less since I want The Outfix to be a space everyone can enjoy without fretting finances. Because fashion should always be fun.

A Better Sweater

by Matthew T. Murray in DAYTIME DRESSING, CASUAL

TUESDAY, JANUARY 5th

Delpozo sweater. Frame Denim jeans. Loewe bag. Delpozo shoes.

If the Wooly Mammoth had an extramarital affair with Drag Queen goddess Lakisha Sparkles, this Delpozo sweater would be their illegitimate love child.

Pastel pink, cobalt blue, rose, and winter white fringe cascade on an alpaca pullover, making the jaw-dropping price tag understandable. Delpozo designer Joseph Font is one of the few pioneering designers reinvigorating demi-couture practices bringing innovative, hand-constructed garments into the ready-to-wear category.

Font spins fashion into a Willy Wonka-fied fantasy and fashion's flock are dreaming of Delpozo. This crazy ass sweater and the other offerings from his recent pre-fall 2016 collection are on sale for pre-order at Moda Operandi if you feel like loosening the purse strings.

And while an easy breezy J. Crew v-neck sweater may be your no-brainer for effortless winter dressing, why not take a walk on the wild side and dare to wear this sweater?

Wearing a sweater this bipolar is no easy feat. Scale it back by wearing denim - a flare-legged jean gives the look a free-spirited '70s vibe. Add a top-handle bag that perfectly complements one of the shades of the sweater. Last but not least, pair it with a bow-adorned glossy shoe that makes it feel like Christmas all over again!

Most importantly, wear a smile! To quote the Dalai Lama, fun outfits fail when you're a grouchy biatch. Ok. He didn't say that but I'm sure he'd agree with me.
