Golden Globes 2016: The Evening's Best Dressed

by Matthew T. Murray in Best Dressed

Jennifer Lopez in Giambatista Valli

Jennifer Lopez in Giambatista Valli

I already yapped about it on my Instagram but Jennifer Lopez was the kween of the karpet at tonight's Golden Globe Awards. She shut it down in a marigold Giambatista Valli stunner and served old Hollywood glamour in a sea of sequin-speckled gowns.

The Golden Globes red carpet is the first major fashion moment of the new year and the shining stars of Hollywood put their best Louboutin-heeled feet forward. I couldn't help but salivate like a sex-starved puppy watching the usual red carpet suspects make their grand entrance and tell that jolly ole' Seacrest what they are wearing.

Here are tonight's best dressed stars - from Cate Blanchett and her pastel pink cascading fringed Givenchy Haute Couture number to Zendaya's merlot-hued brocade showstopper from Marchesa. Clickity click on the images below to see the look and view outfit details.

What to Buy This Week: Activewear That Makes You WANT to Hit The Gym!

by Matthew T. Murray in Fitness, $hop

NEW YEAR, NEW GEAR!

Last week, I waxed poetic on the beauty of the gym journey and showed you a high-fashion fitness look from Fendi to get you hype about your New Years' fitness resolutions.

Since a sequin Miu Miu kitten heel speaks to our souls more than mind-blowing sex does, we know that fashion is the key to any journey we embark upon. You're always whining and bitchin' about how you have to go the gym. But what if you wanted to go to the gym if only to prance around and show off your look?

Step up your style at the gym by shopping my favorite under $130 picks in exercise gear below. And don't forget that I will be digitally styling gym looks over in the Outfits section every Monday and Friday for the rest of January to remind your ass to hit the gym at the beginning and end of each week!

FIGHTING THE POST-VACATION BLUES

by Matthew T. Murray in Monday Morning Blues

Mondays suck! But the suckiest of all the sucky Mondays is without a doubt the one that follows the holiday season.

You're either coming back from vacay where you planted your lazy ass on the beach sipping some obnoxiously sugary pink drink all day long (lucky!). Or you spent the holiday time off galivanting around the city from party to party sipping cheap champagne on New Year's Eve and subsequently ending up in a stranger's bed in another borough on New Year's Day (the new year, new me thang is already off to a rocky start but you have time to get your act together, girl!)

One of your resolutions might be to slay at work this year but cut yourself some slack for your performance today. You're cranky, tired, possibly hungover and need time to ease back into that bitchy boss you completely forgot existed who is already hounding you about deadlines for the week. Since you have the Monday morning, post-vacation blues, here are 5 things to do or see to cheer you up:

1. Follow this puppy on Instagram, so you can do that white girl squeal of cuteness at your office desk.

2. Realize that you relatively make smart decisions, as opposed to this dude.

3. Enjoy the sheer awesomeness of Jaden Smith screwing with gender norms yet again by starring in the spring Louis Vuitton womenswear campaign and rocking a skirt. YAS!

4. Take a minute to check out the #GirlLove Challenge and rejoice over how much women are standing up for each other these days!

5. Get a retail high by buying this under $100 slip dress that will look good with everything. Trust me (and Harper's Bazaar), slip dresses are going to be everywhere this year.
